Aries: Mars, your ruling planet, has been retrograding since mid-Nov.  It really slows the works through the winter while you contemplate what you want to do next.  At the beginning of the year you could be evaluating a relationship.  If it is a good one, there will be a celebratory occasion by the middle of March.  If not, you may move on to greener pastures.  In March through May your general attention will be on property, family, and security needs.  In Sept. you will seal a deal or start a new partnership, business or romantic.  Throughout the year you will recognize the need to organize the details of your life, at work, home, and personally.  You need to focus more time and discipline in the area of health.  Nov-Dec is a period of high stress and may include travel issues, along with general worry overload.  Pay careful attention to your physical body at that time in order to avoid strain related accidents.

Taurus: 
You are moving into a long period in which education and development of skills becomes intensely important in your life.  This does not have to be formal.  You may be learning the practice of big business.  Travel, whether of the spirit or of the body, will be a prominent feature throughout the year.  Expansion of the boundaries of your life is beginning now and will go on for several years.  A preview of the territory is highly prominent in Jan-Feb.  It may actually be the first step.  In order to proceed, you may have to leave a condition or even a person behind.  That is scary, especially in March, but it is the right thing to do if you want to grow.  In early May there will be a significant development that lets you know you are on the right track.  A new relationship to yourself and also to another may begin here.  During late May and much of June Mercury will be retrograding in your sign, causing you to hesitate and think again.  It is important that you gather crystal clarity about your direction because it will require concentration to take the journey.  You do not want to be conflicted or distracted.  Activities are put on hold in July, with lots of waiting involved.  Another good starting point is in August.  In Sep. your daily routine makes a change, perhaps due to a shift of job or new people in your work environment.  The last quarter marks a time of meeting people and going everywhere, just when you really might prefer to rest.  Take your vitamins.
 

Gemini: The activities for the year begin slowly because Mars, the warrior planet, is retrograding in your sign.  Think carefully before beginning new activities through March. Travel made during the 1st quarter will be to previously visited locations.  March is socially and romantically active.  Throughout the year it is time to give serious attention to investments and joint property.  Don't simply hide your savings in a mattress or give it to a broker and forget it.  Study the subject of investing.  A time of especially good fortune concerning property and shared resources occurs in April.  Payoffs come your way here.  In early May through June 10 Mercury is retrograding in your sign.  During this period it is more favorable for you to be reflecting and thinking about your next phase in life.   Set big decisions aside until the right answer comes.  Travel is prominent through July and early August.  The pace of Sep. will be odd.  Everything begins in a rush of plans and activity, followed by a fairly immediate curbing while you think again.  This planetary setup could lend itself to accidents, so drive and handle tools carefully.  Then following mid-Oct., things move into forward motion again.  Nov and Dec. are full of travel, favorable trends in investments, and multiple family activities.
 

Cancer: As the year begins, Moon Children will note a shift in direction.  You have been absorbed with travel, education, and perhaps grandchildren or in-laws for the past 18 months.  For the next year and a half, many of your hours will be absorbed with organizing financial matters, correcting your will, and claiming what is owed to  you.  It is probable that you will benefit through the resources of others during that period.  You may be the recipient of an inheritance or other gifts.  Your interest in the mysteries of life and death both deepen and broaden.  In the 1st quarter you will experience the first set of two eclipses.  One shows you the outcome of a significant relationship.  It likely will be a blessing.  The other introduces you to the topics described above.  During the second quarter your mind may be a million miles away.  You will ponder and search your spiritual beliefs.  In August will be the second set of eclipses.  This period will present you with issues of sharing.  What is fair to keep for yourself and what need you portion with others in order to maintain your ethics?  What recipe makes up your sense of self worth?  The last quarter brings you to study yourself in relationship to significant others.  Do you like the direction of things?  Is there something that needs to be resolved in order to move forward?
 

Leo:The year begins with considerable social activity.  There may be a lot of talk and no real action for the first couple of months.  You may know what you want to do, but your partner and significant others are tap dancing and cannot find clarity.  These important people are likely to be fuzzy minded all year, so you will have to be on your toes.  The times of particular stress occur in Feb. and also in August, symbolized by the eclipses of the year.  For those who are single but involved, this is the last year you will spend with this individual unless you change the status of the relationship.  This is a very fine year to begin a significant new health routine.  It won't take very long for you to discover how much better the changes make you feel.  Your usual daily routine, work environment, coworkers, and employees bring positive changes into your life.  You will be applying discipline in your financial world, due to a desire to use disposable income for a long term investment.  Save carefully because in the last quarter there will be sudden, though not overwhelming, expenses to handle.  Late May, June and July are the most social months of the year.  You may have a desire to get in touch with old friends or they will contact you during that period.  In Sep. you or the others in your life may be confrontive or challenging.
 

Virgo: No doubt you have read this before:  Now is the time to redefine yourself and your life direction.  You've known it for over a year, but in the late summer of '07 it became starkly clear.  It may be lonely on the path for a couple of years, but the effort will give you new life, so stay with it.  Let the past go.  Keep only what and who is truly important to you.  Between now and the 3rd quarter of '09, the main project is to blend what is at your core and unchangeable with what is nontraditional for you.  If this is not immediately apparent, it will be so in March.  This undertaking will be a test of confidence and creativity, but it is timely now.  If your wish is to have children or encounter a new lover, it likely will be granted this year.  Take especially good care of yourself in Jan-Feb.  Your energy and reflexes are lower at that time.  You will be fuzzy-minded in latter April.  In May-June you will likely travel to someplace you have been in the past.  Sep-Oct is a time to pause and think carefully about the next steps.  In Nov-Dec you will begin the new project in earnest.

Libra: Your career output is slowing.  This is due to stressors of several years on your psyche from overwork.  You may be sliding into a less visible role.  Hints of the changes occur in Jan. and again in March, but activity probably won't develop until the end of the year.  Throughout the year your desire for a sense of security is becoming a higher priority and you are finding ways to arrange your life in order to require less income.  This is a time to reduce debt.  You may need to sell property to lighten your load and to prepare for the coming phase of life.  You could be redecorating or arranging your home to adapt to business needs.  Late Jan, early Feb, and early May are sterling times to sell at a profit.  In April a relationship comes to a harvest point.  You will know what you have and what you don't.  The summer is unremarkable, except for July, in which there are time consuming detours and waiting for others.  During Sept. and Oct.  Mercury will be retrograding in your sign, suggesting you need to rethink your plans.  Don't sign on the dotted line.  A new relationship is possible in Sep., but take your time.  Changes may develop in the workplace in the last quarter of '08 or the first half of '09 that will cause you to wonder if it is worth the effort to keep things as they are.  Probably it will be better to adapt now and prepare to move on when the time is right in '09.
 

Scorpio: 
Every few years the Scorpio has a desire to discard the past and start fresh again.  This is the "phoenix" quality of the sign, discarding feathers and starting anew.  Pluto, your planetary ruler, is on the cusp of its transition into Capricorn during 2008.  The probability is strong that you are thinking seriously about a drastic change in your life.  It  likely includes moving and perhaps you will be considering refurbishing your education.  The last time you made such a change was around 1995.  You will take significant action on this in March.  (Watch weekly horoscopes for more detail on this.)  Through the 1st quarter you will be concentrating on paying off debt or collecting money that is due you.  Relationship(s) may be challenging but you will hold your tongue.  Relationship high spots occur mid-March, April, and early June through July, again in Aug.  Be cautious of a new situation or relationship that begins in Sept. because there may be a deception involved.  Mars returns to your sign for a renewal of energy in Oct-Nov.  Stay on the right side of the law in Dec.
 

Sagittarius: 
The Archers are bringing a life journey of 13 years to completion at this time.  As Pluto entered your sign in 1995, it brought massive change in lifestyle, choices, and challenged your sense of identity.  You will find that after such a very long time, you are now emerging as a stronger, wiser human being. This has been like a trip through the enchanted forest.  Just as the mythic Hero of literature, you want to bring back all those valuable lessons to those at home.  But it is all just too massive to convey.  Now that you have been totally transformed, the next 1 year leg of the journey will be focused on making practical use of your wisdom.  You are by nature a teacher and you need to find a venue to share that skill.  Your mindset in Jan. is over-optimistic, but in the right direction.  In Feb. you will encounter those who can help.  The period from March through the summer will require effort.  You must become qualified by the "rules" to give credence to your life experience.  Travel is good in July-Aug.  Sep. brings rewards of a social and career nature.  As Nov and Dec. arrive, you have more to manage than you think you can.  You will do it well.
 

Capricorn: This is the year that Pluto, planet of transformation, stands at the cusp of your sign.  You are surely already aware of a fear/hope/desire for big change.  If you are not planning to create one for yourself, it will be built around you during the next couple of years.  You are likely to take on the mantle of more power.  Sometimes Pluto brings significant money.  He will not be a friend to those who become arrogant with power, so give attention to your attitude.  Saturn, your ruling planet, will be in favorable aspect to your endeavors for two years.  It will bring business from distant places and may involve travel or the internet.  High reward times occur in late Jan-Feb., Apr, June, Sep., and Nov.  Tests and challenges occur in Mar-Apr.  Good work is rewarded, bad suffers consequences.  New business relationships develop in Aug-Sep.  Throughout the year you will be dealing with a balancing act between tradition and unconventionality.  The Goats who win will find ways to blend the new with the best parts of the traditional.
 

Aquarius:  One side of you is devoted to maintaining the status quo and following the rules.  Another side of you is the rebel deluxe, the one who always colors outside the lines.  You probably feel much more comfortable in one mode or the other.  Whichever way is your norm, through '08 and much of '09, you will encounter your opposite.  If you prefer rules and order, others will frequently press you out of your habits.  And if you are the rebel, circumstances will force you to fly according to the standards.  The point of this juggling act is to help you attain truer balance in your attitudes.  During Jan-Feb Mercury is retrograding in your sign.  Put off important decisions during this period.  The New Year will be slow to start.  Just let it be. Pisces: Jupiter, your ruling planet, will be in the territory of friendships throughout the year.  You will be accessing your former and present community contacts in a purposeful way.  Give particular attention to the new person(s) that cross your path in mid-Feb and again in the April-May period.  These are times that you will encounter Teachers.  The first one will teach you to contain your Pollyanna-like attitudes.  The second brings increased interest in the spiritual dimension of life.  Throughout the year you will be "studying" the issue of freedom versus responsibility.  Overdoing either will bring almost immediate reprisal.  Business may be a challenge. If self-employed, you may have more free time than is normal.
